What is Psychotherapy?

Québec (OPQ). Only licensed professionals — such as psychologists and psychotherapists like myself — are legally authorized to provide psychotherapy.

Psychotherapy involves the in-depth treatment of psychological distress and mental health conditions, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational challenges. It is a reflective, emotionally focused process grounded in evidence-based clinical frameworks.

I offer 50-minute psychotherapy sessions for individuals, couples, families, and parents seeking resources and support. These sessions are collaborative, dynamic, and tailored to your unique context and goals.

In therapy, we explore the roots of emotional patterns, attachment dynamics, and the ways past experiences may be shaping your present. Whether you're seeking healing, clarity, or deeper connection, psychotherapy provides a space for meaningful growth and transformation.

What is Coaching?

Coaching, on the other hand, is not a regulated act in Quebec. It is future-oriented, goal-focused, and typically shorter in duration. Coaching is ideal for individuals who are not in acute psychological distress, but who are seeking clarity, accountability, or support in areas such as leadership, performance, stress management, or major life transitions. As a coach, I draw from my clinical training while maintaining appropriate boundaries between therapeutic and coaching relationships.

What is right for you?

While both therapy and coaching are relational, reflective, and growth-oriented, the key difference lies in the depth and clinical focus of psychotherapy versus the strategic, present-to-future focus of coaching.
